Kenya's Environmental Trust Fund

The National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND) is a State Corporation under Kenya's Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, established under EMCA 1999 to mobilize resources for environmental management.

  • Mandated to mobilize and channel resources for environmental management in Kenya
  • Works with communities, NGOs, government agencies, and private sector across 47 counties
  • Ranked 2nd among Kenya's best-performing public institutions (PSC FY 2022/2023)
  • Accredited by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and international climate finance bodies
