The Cherangany Forest Ecosystem Restoration Programme has mobilised over 5,000 community members to plant 2 million indigenous trees across 3,000 hectares of degraded forestland. The programme, funded by the European Union through NETFUND, provides seedlings, tools, and technical training to Community Forest Associations (CFAs).
Participating households receive stipends for nursery establishment and tree planting activities, creating alternative livelihoods while restoring critical water catchment areas.
