A NETFUND climate adaptation grant enabled the Kitui Smallholder Farmers Cooperative to install solar-powered irrigation systems for 200 farming families. The project has transformed previously rain-fed farms into year-round productive units, increasing crop yields by 300% and ensuring food security for participating households.
The cooperative also received training in climate-smart agricultural practices, soil conservation, and water harvesting techniques.
